Data Analysis collaboration
In 2016, MBE collaborated with an American pharmaceutical company in order to analyse physiological data from healthy individuals for the development of a new product.
Flex-Pharma from Boston was a biopharmaceutical company for the novel treatment of neuromuscular disorders that tested effective interventions on humans in certain conditions, such as muscle cramps. The company included prominent founders, such as professors from Rockefeller University and Harvard Medical School, including the Nobel Prize winner Roderick MacKinnon, with whom MBE interfaced during the collaboration.
The aim of the pilot study
Flex-Pharma‘s aim was to conduct a pilot study on a system capable of interrupting that altered neural activation. With this purpose, the collaboration included MBE’s involvement in analysing physiological data from a sample of patients and discussing the results to create a better basis for the following future creations. MBE services
MBE services include the analysis of physiological data and the custom signal processing, statistical analysis of available data and bioengineering consultancy. These can be requested by public bodies or private companies wishing to conduct studies for the development of new products.
