When SIAMOC (the Italian Society of Motion Analysis in Clinics) organizes lectures and events related to movement analysis, it is always a pleasure to join them and contribute with lectures and presentations!
Just a few weeks earlier, we took part in the XIII SIAMOC Congress, during which our group participated with several presentations and even won the first prize for the best clinical work.
From October 18th to 21st, the XV SIAMOC Challenge on clinical gait analysis took place in Bologna. This year, the course was organized by Professors Maria Grazia Benedetti and Rita Stagni.
Lectures and courses on surface electromyography
Renowned experts in the field of motion analysis held the lectures, including Dr. Davide Mazzoli, Michela Cosma, Matteo Cioni, and Silvia Fantozzi.
We also took part in the course, with slideshows by Eng. Andrea Merlo and Dr. Isabella Campanini.
We covered topics related to the physiology of myoelectric signals, methodologies for accurate signal detection, and key signal processing techniques. Participants learned how to interpret sEMG signals from healthy subjects and differentiate them from pathological ones. We explored several applications of gait analysis with sEMG, highlighting its meaningfulness for appropriate clinical practice and healthcare systems.
As a professional, I am deeply grateful to SIAMOC for the growth opportunities it has consistently provided over the years. Joining this society has enabled me to engage with other experts and mentor new talents interested in the fascinating field of gait analysis.
The SIAMOC is thriving in organizing training courses and events. Please visit their website to stay updated on the latest developments!
