New advanced course
The Advanced Course in Movement Analysis for Rehabilitation Practice took place in Rome from March 26–28, 2025, hosted by the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital. The event was organized by Dr. Maurizio Petrarca from the MARLab, in collaboration with the Digital Technologies Special Interest Group (NIS) of AIFI – the Italian Physiotherapy Association.
Andrea Merlo and Isabella Campanini from the MerloBioEngineering team were invited to contribute as expert speakers.
Topics covered
The program covered key topics including the biomechanics of gait and its influencing factors, methods for synthesizing kinematic and kinetic data, and how movement changes in different clinical disorders.
In addition to gait analysis, the course also explored postural assessment and upper limb motion analysis, emphasizing the importance of standardized protocols. Participants also took part in hands-on workshops focused on therapeutic indications and clinical decision-making.
