We’ve reached the ninth edition of the Lower Limb Surface Electromyography (sEMG) Course, organized by SIAMOC – the Italian Society of Motion Analysis in Clinics!

MerloBioEngineering has proudly supported this course for years and is a key promoter of it. Dr. Andrea Merlo, founder of MBE, serves as the Course Director, and Dr. Isabella Campanini acts as the Scientific Coordinator.

Advancing knowledge in sEMG – our mission

The course sold out within just a few weeks!

Forty participants joined three full days of intensive training, held from October 23rd to 25th at the Motion Analysis Laboratory of Azienda USL-IRCCS Reggio Emilia, directed by Dr. Campanini.

Seven expert lecturers delivered a rich mix of theoretical lectures, hands-on workshops, and clinical case discussions.

Topics covered included:

  • The fundamentals of interpreting EMG traces
  • Proper electrode placement techniques
  • Integrating instrumental and clinical assessments
  • Identifying common errors and artifacts in raw EMG signals
  • EMG signal interpretation in neurological patients

MBE supports knowledge development

At MerloBioEngineering, we are committed to promoting knowledge and skills in the field. During the course, participants could directly observe the impact of incorrect electrode placement, apply signal-cleaning filters, and reflect on the meaning of muscle activation patterns in clinical contexts.

Our software EMG Easy Report played a crucial role in translating theoretical concepts into practice. Its user-friendly interface and intuitive features make it ideal for both clinical and research applications.

Our expertise, at your service

We bring over 20 years of experience in movement analysis to support your goals. Whether you need help analyzing sEMG data, have a new research idea and need help designing the study, or want to explore the full potential of EMG Easy Report: we’re here to help.
