As every year, September marks a season full of new initiatives and outreach activities.

This year again, MerloBioEngineering took part in the Annual Meeting of the ESMAC – European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children, held in Basel (Switzerland) from September 8th to 13th, 2025.

EMG Easy Report Presented in an Oral Session

The first project showcased was developed in collaboration with Dr. Maurizio Petrarca and his team from the Movement Analysis and Robotics Laboratory (MARLab) at the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome.

During the oral presentation, Dr. Merlo described postural adjustment mechanisms that occur while walking on an unstable platform named Doris, developed at the MARLab. Statistical analysis included mixed model methods.

Using Emg Easy Report, enhanced with a series of custom-built filters, the team was able to isolate postural phenomena in muscle activation of the triceps surae and tibialis anterior. The data collected from healthy individuals can, in the future, be compared with those from patients with motor impairments or at risk of falling. This may help identify dysfunctional mechanisms and potentially guiding rehabilitation strategies.

EMG Easy Report is a perfect example of a software solution that evolves to meet the needs of each researcher. We offer tailor-made add-ons and features developed in collaboration with your research goals.
